December was an important month for ball hockey as the ISBHF made a decision to adjust player eligibility rules for Pardubice, 2017. Essentially, the International Street and Ball Hockey Federation has made a change that will allow federations like ours to send heritage players to future ISBHF events. Here's the current ISBHF player eligibility explanation:
A: A player should be allowed to represent his nation they can provide any proof that either one of their parents or grandparents are of that nation (simple last name on most times can verify this, or previous parents /grandparents, passports, birth certificate, death certificate, estate document, citizenship card etc).
B: If a player cannot provide this then they must obtain a passport or a consulate letter stating that their parents/grandparents have that nationality etc
These changes are reflected in the 'Heritage' tab within our Team Italia menu.
In light of these changes we will be holding a tryout near Montreal early in the new year as we continously look to improve our program and prepare for Pardubice, 2017.
Merry Christmas to everyone in the INBHF family, all of our supporters and everyone in the ball hockey community!
Buon Natale a tutti!
