The Men Arrive in Kosice. Fall to Team Canada.

ISBHF World Championships are underway in Kosice, Slovakia. Men's team drops the opener 6-4.

The Azzurri storm out to a 3-0 lead early in the first on goals by Captain Jonathan Pulicicchio and two by Frankie Giustini. They took a 3-2 lead to the dressing room. Andrew Sisi would score a beauty on a breakaway to make it 4-2 and that's when the wheels would fall off. Team Canada would score a powerplay goal late in the second and we head to the break up 4-3. Four straight power plays for Canada, scoring on each one, would give them the lead 6-4 that would not be relinquished.

This was a fine test for the boys and lots to build on. Saturday will be a day off with the next game on Sunday 10am (local time) against Switzerland.

Man of the Match: Frankie Giustini
